QUEEN’S PARK – Bobbi Ann Brady, MPP for Haldimand-Norfolk, today stood during Remembrance tributes in the Ontario Legislature and spoke in honour of our brave Canadian veterans past and present, those who fell, survivors, regiments, squadrons, and military service organizations.
Brady impressed upon her colleagues how important it is that we honour all of those who have served and serve. She discussed Haldimand-Norfolk’s proud military history and also honoured Haldimand-Norfolk’s own Brigadier-General Ryan Deming, who has served in the military since 1993. She recalled some lines from Deming’s recent speech at the Norfolk County Fair Warrior’s Day Parade where he said, “I’ve experienced humanity at its best – and unfortunately at its worst. I’ve endured the complexity and managed chaos in theatres of war.”
“While it is difficult to find the words to truly convey the sincerest of appreciation, may we all go reminding ourselves that freedom comes at a cost, and we must never forget those that have fought and fallen to preserve the freedoms of our great nation,” Brady said. “Tell your kids and grandkids of such men and women and as we embark upon Remembrance Day, take the time to partake in events that point to the bravery of past warriors and tell the stories of their deeds.”
