SIMCOE – Following a whirlwind two months of activities in the riding, newly-elected MPP Bobbi Ann Brady is prepared to take her seat in the Ontario Legislature for the first time on Monday, Aug. 8.

The Ontario Legislature will reconvene Monday with the election of the Speaker. The speaker is an independent officer of the Ontario Legislature and presides over proceedings and debates.

“I have been looking forward to taking my seat in the House and choosing a Speaker,” Brady said. “The Speaker carries out a non-partisan role and his/her word is always final.”

Since winning the election, Brady has been attending numerous events throughout the riding, including the Mudcat Festival in Dunnville, Canada Day parades in Caledonia and Port Dover and numerous festivals. She has also been dropping into businesses across the riding to talk to owners about the state of the economy locally. In the office, she has been meeting with local individuals, groups and concerned residents on a variety of issues.
