QUEEN’S PARK – MPP Brady today stood in the Ontario Legislature to celebrate last weekend’s Langton Oldtimers Six Pack Tournament. Over 260 hockey players converged on the Langton arena, the beautiful arena spanning five decades of rich culture and tradition. The tournament has been attracting and boasting hockey talent for over 28 years. It’s called the Six Pack because you have five players and a goalie allowing no subs in most divisions.

“The tournament has the little town of Langton buzzing from Wednesday to Sunday with games running every half hour,” Brady said. “The Langton Oldtimers have this event down to a science and they are the ones responsible for the great hockey, camaraderie and bringing the community together. Thank you to all who had a hand in another successful year.”

Competition was stiff in the carded division as junior and a handful of OHL players faced off. The 35, 45, and 55 games showcased the skills of the talented players.

She was proud to see, for the second time in the tournament’s history, a women’s division hit the ice. One of the five teams was her own, the Brady-Underhill Barn Burners. Underhill’s Farm Supply and Brady teamed up to sponsor a woman’s team and her son Carter’s carded team.

Brady and her team skated to the championship game but came up short against some talented girls from the Stratford area.

Another proud feature was arena fixture Roger Demeester in the timekeeper’s box who amazingly recorded his 8,660th game during the tournament.
