Brady votes in favour of making life more affordable

QUEEN’S PARK—Constituents continually tell MPP Bobbi Ann Brady that life is becoming unaffordable.  The Haldimand-Norfolk MPP will take every opportunity to try to ease the financial pain people are feeling.  This is why she voted yesterday in support of Motion 70, which called for the Government of Canada to take immediate steps to eliminate the carbon tax on fuels and inputs for home heating.

“This motion went through more amendments than the U.S. constitution, but I wholeheartedly agree with the opinion that the carbon tax is an unnecessary burden for businesses and consumers and should be promptly scrapped,” Brady said.

Brady suspects a letter will be sent from Premier Ford to Prime Minister Trudeau informing him of the Ontario Legislature’s opinion that the carbon tax should be removed from fuels and home heating.  Ultimately, any decision on the carbon tax rests solely with the federal government.

“I have been clear all along that Premier Ford and this House need to keep the pressure on the federal government to remove this burden from Ontarian’s daily expenditures,” Brady said.
